The Fallaways Brandish A Sharper Edge

Vancouver punk rockers, The Fallaways, are back with their debut single, Let Go, from their new EP, ‘Sunset Ave’. The raucous romper follows a band who has seen it all and come back from the dark depths of themselves stronger and more motivated than ever. “Let go specifically is about the toxic lifestyle we got into as a band,”  says singer Jason Koster. “We set some pretty bad routines for ourselves and it’s about coming back from that and being a stronger band and family than we were before.” The edge is still present, but certainly darker than their previous effort.

The first single shows a band maturing a lot in their few short years of existence. “A lot of people consider us a party rock band, and that may be true, but different to other bands in that genre we’re not afraid to release songs about the ‘afterlife of the party,’” says Koster. If their previous EP, ‘Skiddish’ is the party, ‘Sunset Ave’ is the hangover. The title is derived from the street they all lived on while writing and recording this record. They met the ugly side of the music industry and luckily stopped before anything got out of hand. The EP was half produced by Vancouver staple, Tommy Mac (The Beatlab), and half by punk rocker Zac Carper (FIDLAR), and engineered by the legendary Karl Dicaire (Cancer Bats, The Real Mckenzies).

Expect a more vulnerable side from The Fallaways when ‘Sunset Ave’ drops this summer.
