The talented Vancouver based singer-songwriter Kyle Vaughan just released his mesmerizing debut video and track- Paths. This is a wonderful entrance for Kyle’s addictively appeasing music into the world. His powerful yet merciful music is only illuminated during the face of adversity.

This captivating video encompasses a certain mystique and ambiguity surrounding the meaning of the song. The chorus refrain of ‘I think I should’ve gone home’ is an all too familiar feeling, this time set to a bad time at a strange party. It is left up to the listener to decide what exactly the character should’ve gone home from. There is an unmistakable sense of fun that is absent from a lot of West Coast folk/rock these days, and Kyle certainly leans into these more roguish tendencies. With the playful nature of the samba-esque dance breakdowns and the tongue-in-cheek weirdo-at-a-party scenario, the sarcastic undertones really shine through and you can tell Kyle Vaughan and co are having a ball the entire time. It’s spooky and fun, sardonic yet thoughtful, Paths is sure to be played at many a bonfire this summer.

Produced and directed by a committee consisting of Kyle Vaughan, Matt Burnham, John Gillich and Riel McGuire (whose expert cinematography skills are on full display)
